A new and touching clip from the highly anticipated documentary “I Am: Celine Dion” has been unveiled, offering a deep, personal glimpse into the superstar’s connection with her fans. In the emotional video released on Tuesday, Celine Dion poetically likens her role to that of an apple tree.
“I feel like — let’s say there’s an apple tree — I’m an apple tree,” Dion explains. “And people are in line, and I give them apples. The best. And I shine them, and they all leave with a basket of apples.”
She continues, reflecting on the toll of her career: “My branches are starting to fall sometimes, get crooked, and those branches are starting to produce a little less apples. But there’s still as many people in line. I don’t want them to wait in line if I don’t have apples for them.”
The clip comes just one day after Dion attended a special screening of the documentary in New York City. During the event, she delivered an emotional speech, marking her first major public appearance in some time.
“This is, by far, the biggest crowd I’ve had in a few years,” Dion said, visibly moved. “I miss that. I cannot believe how fortunate I am to have my fans in my life. Thank you. Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my journey. This movie is my love letter to each of you.”
She also took the opportunity to express gratitude toward her children — René-Charles Angelil, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13 — for their unwavering daily support and love.
“I Am: Celine Dion” chronicles the Grammy Award-winning artist’s journey with stiff-person syndrome, a diagnosis she revealed two years ago. Directed by Academy Award-nominated Irene Taylor, the documentary provides a raw, behind-the-scenes look at Dion’s struggle with this life-altering illness. Described as a love letter to her fans, the film showcases Dion’s music and the resilience of the human spirit.
The documentary will be available for streaming on Prime Video on June 25.
