In the late ’80s and early ’90s, the music duo Milli Vanilli became very popular with songs like “Blame It on the Rain.” But their success ended suddenly when people discovered that Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan weren’t the real singers. Instead, other singers performed the songs, and Milli Vanilli lip-synced. The group Boney M, created by the same producer, Frank Farian, had a similar issue. Bobby Farrell, their lead performer, often lip-synced during live shows. These discoveries made many people question what matters more: the real talent or the perfect performance, even if it’s fake? Is this same trick happening with today’s singers, but no one has found out yet?
